Aston Villa won just their second game of the season as they advanced to the fourth round of the League Cup against Coventry, and new boy Ibrahim Mbaye impressed on full debut.
Villa have yet to win in the Premier League this season, sitting within the relegation places. But they walked over fellow strugglers Coventry to show they are a far better side than that.
The Villans won 3-1, thanks to a Tammy Abraham brace, and a headed goal from Ross Barkley.
It was the full debut of new boy Mbaye, who joined for £47million from Paris Saint-Germain in the summer, and he looked sharp in his first full outing, after playing 27 minutes against Nottingham Forest at the weekend.
It was Mbaye who assisted Barkley for Villa's second goal, whipping a corner into space for the midfielder to walk into and easily guide home.
Good delivery is one thing which will be ideal for Villa, but Mbaye's quick feet were the most impressive feature displayed on his full debut.
On a few separate occasions he got the ball out of his feet and began a promising move. He did so in the first half to set up a John McGinn shot, when picking the ball up on the edge of the box, beating a man with a step over and sttiking against another defender, with the ball falling into the path of the Scot, who turned wide.

Mbaye created one big chance - the assist for Barkley's goal - from four key passes. The Senegal winger also crossed accurately on four occasions, made 25 of 27 passes accurately and had one shot on target.
He also made five progressive carries and three recoveries. Mbaye was rated 7.0 from SofaScore for his full debut - a decent start which shows there's a good platform to build from.
As a result of his outing against Coventry, it would seem he should be the starter on the right wing in the next game, in the Premier League against Tottenham.
The other wing role is reserved for George Hemmings, who continues to impress, having played a lovely outside the foot ball to Abraham for the opener.
Unai Emery has conceded that Alejandro Garnacho is a little behind on his progress, and that means Hemmings has the shirt until the Argentine can show he's worthy of taking it from him.
Two exciting young teenagers occupy the flanks at Villa, and with both assisting against Coventry, there should be a good deal of enthusiasm about what can come from their seasons. The next thing to achieve is the first Premier League win.
