Fabrizio Romano tackles the latest rumours claiming Marcus Rashford could leave Manchester United to join the Turkish Super Lig.
The MUFC academy product became an outcast at Ruben Amorim’s court, which prompted his exit in January 2025.
After spending six months at Aston Villa and a full campaign at Barcelona, Rashford returned to Carrington this summer after failing to convince the Catalan giants to activate their option to buy him for £26 million, despite scoring 14 goals and producing as many assists last term.

After weeks of speculation, the 28-year-old was eventually welcomed back at Man Utd. Michael Carrick, a former teammate of Rashford, was happy to reintegrate him into the squad.
The England international made his first competitive appearance for the club in more than 18 months when he came off the bench during the 0-2 defeat to Hull City last weekend.
But while some sources suggested Rashford could still leave the club in the final days of the summer transfer window, following other big names who signed for Turkish clubs, Fabrizio Romano was quick to shoot down these rumours.
“Marcus Rashford stance has not changed despite reports: he’s not going to join Turkish clubs this summer,” posted the Italian journalist on his X (formerly Twitter) account on Saturday morning.
“Full focus on Manchester United + no chance for Fenerbahçe move.”
Can Rashford reclaim his old status at Man United?
With Amorim long gone, Rashford has been given the opportunity to start anew under an old ally in the shape of Carrick.
Nevertheless, the Portuguese manager wasn’t necessarily the only one who wanted the forward out of the club. After all, Sir Jim Ratcliffe and INEOS have been vigorously working on reducing the wage bill, and at the moment, Rashford is the club’s highest earner with a weekly salary north of £300k.
Therefore, the pressure is on Rashford to deliver the goods in the coming months and avoid the mistakes that put him in hot water over the past few years; otherwise, he could find himself on the outs again, and not even Carrick would be able to shield him from the hierarchy’s wrath.
The versatile attacker came off the bench last weekend, replacing the unconvincing Patrick Dorgu on the left wing. So perhaps the manager could entrust him with a starting role against Ipswich, especially if Matheus Cunha leads the line once more in place of Benjamin Sesko, who has yet to return to full fitness.
