Florian Plettenberg reveals how many players Liverpool will sign as Barcola, Minteh pursuits continue

Liverpool will sign another two or three players this summer, as Florian Plettenberg has revealed an update amid the pursuits of Bradley Barcola and Yankuba Minteh.
The Reds have so far signed three players this summer: Victor Munoz, Jeremy Jacquet and Ifeanyi Ndukwe. The wide attacking positions have since been their priority, having seen legendary winger Mohamed Salah depart.
Paris Saint-Germain forward Barcola has been the main subject of the club's admiration this summer, but the £145million price tag has caused some issues.
Liverpool have been trying to come to an agreement with the French side, but progress has been slow.
Plettenberg reveals he remains on the radar, with an update given on the final week of the summer window at Anfield.
The insider wrote on X: 'Liverpool are planning to sign 2-3 more players before Deadline Day. 'Bradley Barcola and Yankuba Minteh remain the top priorities for Liverpool at this stage.'
Yankuba Minteh latest at Liverpool
Liverpool had Minteh in their sights earlier in the summer, and amid their stuttering pursuits of Barcola and PSG team-mate Ibrahim Mbaye - who's now been deemed too expensive - they returned to the Brighton man.
But the Reds have seen two bids for the Gambian winger turned down, the first of £50million and the second £60million.
There was a belief that the higher offer was enough to get the job done, but it's reported Brighton won't accept under £70million for Minteh.
Recently, it has been suggested that Liverpool are weighing up whether to return with an improved third bid.
Meanwhile, Fabrizio Romano has suggested negotiations for Barcola could go down to the wire.
He said: “We are going to be in the final days of the summer transfer window, and that’s the case because it’s going to be next week, and so I don’t know if it’s going to be on the line day or before, but the conversation is going to the very end.
“But Liverpool are absolutely on it.”
Liverpool have been trying to get a discount on the French winger, and there is a feeling that if the talks head into the final days of the window, that could come to fruition.
