Farke reveals injury blow for Leeds star
Daniel Farke revealed that Joe Rodon has suffered a severe hamstring injury and will be out for eight to 10 weeks.
Rodon was taken off early in Leeds’ 1-1 draw with Brentford last weekend and Farke gave an update on the defender’s fitness.
“Bad news with [Rodon], serious hamstring injury. He will be out for, at the moment the assessment is eight to 10 weeks. So he will definitely not play before the next international break. Also probably not the first games after the international break.
“It is a big blow for us because he is a key player for us. But it is football and sometimes you have to deal with injuries. He will definitely miss the next eight to 10 weeks probably.”
Leeds loaned in Melvin Bard and Jean-Matteo Bahoya from Nice and Frankfurt respectively, on the final day of the transfer window.
Farke praised the pair ahead of their clash against Brighton this weekend.
“Good players,” he explained. “Melvin, obviously an experienced player on a really good level, he has played many games. The left-back or left wing-back cover that we needed. Still a very good age, of course it is still early doors because he has just had more or less two training sessions together with us.
“With Jean-Matteo, a young prospect who played in Germany. Very great character, very quick player. Lots of potential, he can take players on. Very young at age so he is in a different role compared to Melvin who is a bit more of a senior experienced player.
“Jean-Matteo is like an exciting young project. I am pleased that both of them are with us right now.”
