Dominik Szoboszlai has put pen to paper on a new long-term Liverpool deal according to reports from Hungary.
The Reds had been desperate to tie the former RB Leipzig man down to a new contract at Anfield.
Real Madrid had previously been credited with an interest in the midfielder, whose previous deal ran until 2028.
Liverpool were keen to avoid losing Szoboszlai to the Spanish giants on a free transfer having previously been stung by Trent Alexander-Arnold and Ibrahima Konate after both secured high-profile switches to the Bernabeu in 2025 and 2026, respectively.
Szoboszlai news a boost for Iraola
However, Szoboszlai, who played in both central midfield and at right-back last season, is now expected to commit to the Merseyside giants, which is a huge boost to head coach Andoni Iraola.
Iraola succeeded Arne Slot at the Anfield helm last month after the Dutchman was relieved of his duties at the end of May.
Slot guided Liverpool to the Premier League title in his debut season on Merseyside but the Reds failed to defend their crown last season, ultimately finishing the campaign in fifth spot, 25 points behind champions Arsenal.
Liverpool have endured a quiet summer so far, bringing in just Victor Munoz from Osasuna to strengthen the wings, while centre-back Jeremy Jacquet completed his move to the club.
The 2024/25 champions remain in the market for another winger following Mohamed Salah’s exit, though Liverpool are expected to miss out on Yan Diomande with Ligue 1 giants Paris Saint-Germain the frontrunners to sign the Ivorian wing-wizard.
Liverpool have also been linked with a move for Diomande’s RB Leipzig teammate Antonio Nusa after his commendable domestic campaign.
