Complicated negotiations: Bouaddi moves further from a switch to Manchester City

David Ornstein, the renowned journalist at "The Athletic", has revealed a fresh twist in Manchester City's pursuit of Morocco's Ayyoub Bouaddi, the Lille midfielder, during the current summer transfer window.

Several reports have tipped Bouaddi to replace Rodri, who moved to Barcelona this summer.

Ornstein told the "TNT" network: "Manchester City have not reached the price Lille are asking for. Of course, they have made a big effort and they may succeed in completing the deal, but so far that has not happened yet...".

On turning instead to Chelsea star Enzo Fernandez, he added: "They really want him, and it is possible, but the Blues will not sell him unless the terms suit them. The deadline they set has passed.
