'Compensation deal': Manchester City negotiate for Palmeiras talent

With Marmoush's departure approaching

Manchester City are preparing to turn the closing stages of the summer transfer window upside down, in a surprise move to reshape their attacking line before the market shuts.

The English champions have entered advanced talks to sign promising Brazilian winger Allan Elias from Palmeiras, sources have told ESPN. The 22-year-old would serve as the direct replacement should Savinho depart.

That move runs alongside ongoing negotiations with Tottenham Hotspur over the sale of Savinho, who has edged close to joining the north Londoners after a previous attempt to sign him last summer failed.

Should the Savinho deal go through, it could open the door to the departure of Egyptian star Omar Marmoush, who joined the Etihad from Eintracht Frankfurt in January 2025.

Elias stands as the leading candidate to succeed Savinho amid an expected noisy end to City's window. Rodri has already moved to Barcelona and Tijani Reijnders to Al-Qadsiah of Saudi Arabia, with Nico Gonzalez potentially leaving too should Newcastle insist on signing him.

City also hope to wrap up another agreement with Lille to sign young Moroccan midfielder Ayoub Bouaddi before the market closes. Those negotiations have reached their final stages.
