Chelsea youngster opens up on lack of game time so far under Xabi Alonso

Chelsea forward Estevao insists he is only focused on giving his best for the club following a frustrating start to the season for the Brazilian.

The 19-year-old is yet to start a Premier League match this season, and has played just 27 minutes off the bench. Nevertheless, he is back in the Brazil squad for the upcoming international break.

“Every coach has their own way of playing,” Estevao responded when asked about Blues boss Xabi Alonso. “And of course, we work hard every day and give our best every single day. So that’s what I do.

“We have players of extreme quality at Chelsea, so what I do is focus on what I can, on what I can control. I try to give my best in training, and when I get the opportunity, I always give my best, and that goes day after day.

“So, in all the opportunities that I get, and that I’ve had, I think I’ve seized a lot of those, taken on a lot of those responsibilities.

“So I try to control what I can, leave tomorrow in God’s hands, and trust in my work.”
