Chelsea is leading Arsenal in the race for England international
New England star Alex Scott is one of the most sought-after players in European football, and Arsenal wants to add him to its squad.
The Bournemouth midfielder has established himself as an outstanding player since last season, prompting the Cherries to work hard to keep him for another campaign. However, this could be his final season at the club, as he does not want to sign a new contract and continues to attract interest.
Arsenal is one of the clubs monitoring Scott’s situation. The Gunners believe he could become an important player at the Emirates and are willing to spend heavily to sign him.
Arsenal faces strong competition
Bournemouth wants to retain Scott, but doing so could become increasingly difficult. Metro Sport reports that several clubs are interested in the midfielder, with Chelsea currently leading the race for his signature.
The Blues are prepared to spend significantly on new players and believe Scott could make the team stronger. Chelsea’s interest therefore represents a serious threat to Arsenal’s hopes of completing a deal.
Scott is reportedly open to joining Chelsea, which could make the situation even more difficult for the Gunners. Arsenal must therefore demonstrate that it wants him more than its rivals if it is to convince both the midfielder and Bournemouth.
Scott has an important decision
A move to Arsenal would give Scott the opportunity to join one of the leading clubs in the Premier League. The Gunners also believe his qualities would make him an important addition to their midfield.
However, Chelsea can offer a similarly attractive opportunity. The Blues have the financial strength to compete for his signature and appear ready to continue pursuing the player despite Bournemouth’s determination to keep him.
Scott’s decision will be influenced by the project offered to him, as well as the willingness of the interested clubs to meet Bournemouth’s demands. Arsenal will need to act decisively to avoid missing out on one of the most highly rated midfielders in England.
