Chelsea had agreed “extremely good deal” for midfielder; could regret deal collapse

Chelsea may regret not spending a little more to get the Lamine Camara deal done says Matt Law of the Daily Telegraph.

Chelsea’s good summer window ended on an error when they failed to get a deal for Lamine Camara over the line.

The transfer collapsed at the last hurdle, leaving the Blues short a midfielder. Journalist Matt Law was on the London is Blue podcast this week rubbing salt in the wound by pointing out how good a deal the Blues were going to get.

“Watch this space on Lamine Camara because he’s a very talented player. And I think the fee that Chelsea had agreed, I think a lot of people were saying that was going to be an extremely good deal for Chelsea. So, let’s watch the space.”

Chelsea could end regretting Camara failure

Unfortunately for Chelsea, if anything this seems to be hinting that they won’t get such a good deal in the future. In fact, given how messy things have got with Monaco over the whole affair, it sounds more like we won’t be buying Camara at all.

We’re not sure what “watch this space” means, but right now it probably means “watch Camara join a different Premier League team next summer.”
