Chelsea have reached an agreement to send Axel Disasi to Crystal Palace on loan for the 2026-27 season, with Palace set to cover his salary and Chelsea receiving a loan fee.

Disasi loan move agreed

Crystal Palace have reached a verbal agreement with Chelsea to sign Disasi on loan, according to Fabrizio Romano. The defender is undergoing a medical with Crystal Palace following the agreement between the clubs.

Fabrice Hawkins of RMC Sport reports that the deal is a season-long paid loan with no option to buy. Chelsea will receive a loan fee, while Crystal Palace will cover Disasi’s salary.

Chelsea had initially sought a permanent transfer for Disasi this summer. Sky Sports reported earlier in the window that the club wanted a fee of almost €30 million, but the latest reporting indicates Chelsea have accepted a temporary exit instead. FootballTransfers reported that a verbal agreement had been reached for the 2026-27 campaign.

Disasi’s Chelsea situation

Disasi has not made a competitive appearance for Chelsea since January 2025 and has spent the subsequent 18 months on loan. He has previously had loan spells with Aston Villa and West Ham United.

The defender made 17 appearances for West Ham last season, when the club were relegated. He remains under contract with Chelsea until 2029.

What the move means for Palace

Crystal Palace have identified Disasi as a priority replacement for Maxence Lacroix, who has moved to Chelsea. Earlier reports said Palace had been discussing both loan and permanent-transfer structures for the centre-back before the clubs moved towards a loan agreement.

Get French Football News, citing RMC Sport, reported that Palace had struck an agreement with Chelsea for the loan.

What happens next

The latest reports describe the transfer as being at its final stage, with personal terms agreed and Disasi completing a medical with Crystal Palace. The proposed arrangement is a loan for the season without an option to buy.

Chelsea and Palace have therefore moved from discussions over a permanent sale to a temporary deal that would take Disasi to Crystal Palace for the 2026-27 season.
