Premier League duo Chelsea and Manchester United are believed to be tracking RB Leipzig youngster Assan Ouedraogo, reports Sky Sports Germany.

The 19-year-old is enjoying a fine breakout year with the German giants, scoring three times and providing an additional three assists for Ole Werner’s side.

And his impressive league showings have caught the attention of Chelsea and United, who are said to be monitoring the 19-year-old.

While a January exit seems unlikely for Ouedraogo, the Premier League pair will hope to present a suitable offer for both player and club in the summer.

Premier League pair monitoring teenage star

Chelsea are renowned for hoovering up the brightest young talents in world football having splashed the cash to sign the likes of Estevao, Cole Palmer and Jarrel Hato in recent windows.

Central midfield isn’t an area of immediate concern for the Blues but they are expected to keep tabs on Ouedraogo, who scored on his Germany debut in a 6-0 win over Slovakia, over the coming months.

United, meanwhile, are in the market for a new midfielder as they look to strengthen in a key area.

Ruben Amorim had wanted to sign a central midfielder over the summer, with Carlos Baleba at the time the number one target.

The Cameroon international is again being linked with a move to Old Trafford, as is Crystal Palace star Adam Wharton and Nottingham Forest lynchpin Elliot Anderson.

United, who fell to a 1-0 loss to 10-man Everton on Monday night to end their five-game unbeaten run, are set for another spending splurge next summer as they look to assemble a squad capable of challenging for domestic honours.

And Ouedraogo, who doesn’t have a release clause with RB Leipzig, is one they may look to target should the teenager maintain his flying Bundesliga form.

Chelsea and United endured indifferent weekend results

Chelsea and United endured contrasting fortunes in the first round of games following the international break.

The Blues earned a third successive league win as they beat Burnley 2-0 at Turf Moor, and are back in Champions League action on Tuesday night as they welcome Barcelona to Stamford Bridge.

United, meanwhile, will look to bounce back from their surprise 1-0 home defeat to the Toffees on Monday night when Amorim’s men face Crystal Palace at Selhurst Park on Sunday.
