Carrick updates on Man Utd’s transfer plans and ‘delighted’ with Rashford return
Manchester United boss Michael Carrick admitted he has been ‘delighted’ with Marcus Rashford’s return, and updates on the club’s transfer plans.
After being exiled by former manager Ruben Amorim, the England international spent last season on loan at Barcelona. Although he has now returned to Old Trafford, speculation continues on where his future may lie.
Nevertheless, Carrick has insisted that he is happy to have the forward back with his squad.
“It’s been pretty obvious since Marcus came back training,” said the United boss. “That he’s come back fantastically well.
Aside from Rashford, United remain active in the transfer window as they continue to pursue further reinforcements. The Reds are reportedly close to completing a deal for Brighton midfielder Carlos Baleba.
“I just think we’re looking to strengthen the squad,” answered Carrick on the club’s transfer plans. “We’re certainly working towards that, making the most of the situation that we have and trying to improve things and trying to move forward.
“I said the same thing to you last time. So, we’re certainly trying to make the most of the opportunities to finish the window stronger than we went into it. And I think we’re a good way to doing that, so far.”
