Brighton & Hove Albion have lodged a £30m bid for Tottenham Hotspur centre-back Luka Vuskovic, reports The Athletic.
The teenager is one of the most sought-after defenders in Europe having shone for German side Hamburg last season.
The Bundesliga outfit were keen to retain the Croatia international’s services, though a return to Hamburg seems unlikely at this stage.
Vuskovic has attracted interest from a number of Europe’s elite sides, with Bayern Munich and Barcelona both keeping tabs on the 19-year-old.
The Croat, who is contracted to Spurs until 2030, will return to the club this summer, yet his stay in London may be short-lived.
Vuskovic is said to be keen on a move to the south coast side, which he views as the best next step in his career as he aims to fully realise his immense potential.
Van Hecke set to leave Brighton
Brighton are also in the market for a new centre-back amid Jan Paul van Hecke’s expected summer exit.
Van Hecke is wanted by Spurs and the likelihood is that the Dutchman, who is currently with the Netherlands national team for the 2026 World Cup, will depart the AMEX next summer.
However, Roberto De Zerbi’s side are yet to agree a fee with Brighton for Van Hecke, though the expectation is that the 25-year-old will be a Spurs player before long.
Tottenham active in the market
Spurs have been active already in the market this summer, bringing in Andrew Robertson and Marcos Senesi from Liverpool and Bournemouth, respectively, on frees.
And the club are expected to invest further following their 17th-placed finish, with Manchester City winger Savinho again linked with a move to the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.
In terms of outgoings, Cristian Romero has been linked with a move away, while Radu Dragusin is expected to be sold this summer.
It does, however, remain to be seen whether Spurs will sanction Vuskovic’s sale.
