Barcola to make instant impact? Iraola says Liverpool’s £106m capture is “definitely available” for Ipswich trip
Andoni Iraola has said Bradley Barcola has arrived with the right mentality to succeed at Liverpool.
Liverpool completed the signing of Barcola from Paris Saint-Germain for an initial fee of £106m this week, in a transfer that could rise to £123m with add-ons.
The France international has won a wealth of honours at Paris Saint-Germain, including back-to-back Champions League trophies across the last two seasons.
Speaking at his pre-match press conference ahead of facing Ipswich Town in the Premier League tomorrow evening, Iraola said Barcola was Liverpool's 'priority' signing in the summer window.
He praised the 23-year-old's hunger to win more silverware after making the move to Anfield, and said the winger has impressed in training. Iraola confirmed that Barcola could make his Liverpool debut when the Reds travel to Portman Road tomorrow.
“He will definitely be available”: Iraola tips ‘very, very good’ Barcola for immediate Liverpool impact
"We are very happy with Bradley. He was our priority, let's say, to sign a very very good player in that position," Iraola said.
"He has come with the right mentality. I liked from him that he wanted Liverpool a lot. He just wanted to come here and I think that is a good first sign and being the player that he is and the things that he has won.
"He has come with the willingness to help us. I am very happy with him and he trained well with us. If everything goes well in training today, he will definitely be available for tomorrow's game."
