Arsenal prepare new Guimaraes bid after midfielder asks to leave Newcastle

Arsenal are preparing a new bid for Newcastle midfielder Bruno Guimaraes after having their first two turned away, reports Fabrizio Romano.
The Gunners are pushing hard for Guimaraes currently. That he has asked to leave the Magpies should only strengthen their desire to land the Brazilian midfielder.
According to Romano, after having had bids of £55million and £65million turned away by Newcastle, Arsenal are preparing a third.
The insider states an offer in the range of £65-90million could see Guimaraes move on.
Romano reveals that though the midfielder has asked to leave Newcastle, he's not going to create an issue, leaving his future in the club's hands.
On the Arsenal side, the insider states it's manager Mikel Arteta who's driving the pursuit of Guimaraes, for whom personal terms won't be an issue.
But at present, the potential transfer lives and dies with Newcastle and whether or not they'll accept the exit.
Arsenal doing more for Guimaraes
Arsenal's first bid of £55million of late was called out as being way below what the Magpies would accept.
Former Premier League scout Bryan King said: “You’re going to have to pay more than £55million for him if he was to leave.
“I wouldn’t let him go if it was my football club. It’s a great support up there, he’s really well liked. It would take a lot of money to get him out of that football club.
“I would definitely say £80m, but then where do you put it in perspective of [Elliot] Anderson? I would say if it’s true they’ve offered £55m, that’s an insult. I’m not sure whether he wants to leave.
“But there again, it’s all about finance, isn’t it? You know, in two years time, you’re not going to get £80m for him, are you? He’s 30 years old. And that might affect on what kind of wages he’d be offered or what kind of contract period he’d be offered.”
Arsenal have now got the message about the larger fee after coming in with a cheeky lower bid to test the waters, and that they're going to keep coming suggests there's a good chance they do get a deal done.
At what value in the range Newcastle are after that is, though, remains to be seen.
