Arsenal lead race for Brighton midfielder – latest transfer news
Arsenal are leading the race to sign England Under-21 midfielder Jack Hinshelwood from Brighton.
The Sun report that the 21-year-old has become a top priority for Mikel Arteta’s side, with the Gunners leading the chase from Manchester City and Manchester United. Arsenal’s officials have already had talks with the midfielder’s representatives with an official bid expected.
Hinshelwood can play in various midfield positions and both full-back positions, with his versatility making him a major target for Mikel Arteta. Brighton are expected to be willing to sanction a deal if a fee between £43-51 million is received.
In terms of outgoings for Arsenal, Fichajes say that Gabriel Jesus is in talks with Italian side Napoli over a move away from the Premier League Champions this summer.
The Serie A side need to make more sales before they can move for the 29-year-old, with Arsenal valuing the Brazilian at €20 million. Jesus’ contract in north London expires in June 2027.
Meanwhile, the Mail are reporting that Como have registered an interest in Chelsea forward Liam Delap, with the Italian outfit wanting to take the English Under-21 international on loan.
Delap signed for the Blues from Ipswich last summer in a £30 million deal, scoring once in 28 Premier League appearances, with Xabi Alonso’s side valuing the 23-year-old at £55 million.
Elsewhere, Coventry City are keen on signing Chelsea defender Josh Acheampong according to talkSPORT.
Despite the west Londoners previously claiming the 20-year-old was ‘untouchable’ and key to Xabi Alonso’s plans, the academy graduate could be on his way to joining Frank Lampard’s side. Acheampong is contracted until 2029.
Finally, Leeds will have to pay at least £8.5m if they want to sign Nico Elvedi from Borussia Mochengladbach, Kicker report.
The Switzerland international is contracted until 2027, and will only be allowed to leave the Bundesliga outfit if a replacement is found.
