Arsenal closing in on Konsa

Arsenal are closing in on a deal to sign Aston Villa defender Ezri Konsa, according to The Athletic.

Arsenal want Nwaneri loan

Arsenal are keen for Ethan Nwaneri to leave the club on loan this summer rather than pursue a permanent transfer, according to BBC Sport.

The 19-year-old enjoyed an impressive pre-season but faces significant competition for places in Arteta’s attacking ranks.

A temporary move is viewed as a way for Nwaneri to gain regular first-team football and continue his development.

Villa agree Wan-Bissaka deal

Aston Villa are set to strengthen their defensive options, however, having agreed a deal to sign Aaron Wan-Bissaka on an initial loan from West Ham, also according to BBC Sport.

The agreement includes an obligation to make the transfer permanent.

Villa reject Al Hilal Watkins bid

But Aston Villa have rejected a bid from Al Hilal for striker Ollie Watkins.

The Saudi Pro League side have shown an interest in the England international, but Villa are reluctant to lose one of their most important attacking players.

Man Utd close in on Baleba

Manchester United are close to agreeing a deal worth £60m plus £5m in add-ons for Brighton midfielder Carlos Baleba, The Athletic report.

United have been looking to strengthen in the centre of the pitch and are now nearing an agreement with Brighton.

Newcastle in talks for Gonzalez

The Athletic also say Newcastle United are in talks with Manchester City over a move for midfielder Nico Gonzalez.

The Spain international only joined City from Porto earlier this year but could now be on the move as Newcastle look to add further quality to their midfield.

Wharton remains City possibility

Crystal Palace midfielder Adam Wharton remains a possibility for Manchester City as part of their midfield rebuild, according to The Sun, meanwhile.

City are continuing to assess their options in the position and Wharton is among the players being considered.

Gavi rejects Man Utd move

However, Barcelona midfielder Gavi has rejected the possibility of a £35m move to Manchester United, according to the Mirror.

United were reportedly interested in the Spain international but Gavi remains committed to Barcelona.
