Real Madrid were reluctant to entertain offers for the Brazil international over the summer despite serious interest from Manchester City.
The Cityzens were unable to agree a fee for Rodrygo earlier in the year, but Los Blancos’ stance on the former Santos trainee has softened in recent weeks.

However, Real Madrid will demand a hefty fee for Rodrygo, who is contracted to the Bernabeu until 2028.
It’s been reported that the Spanish giants will demand offers in excess of €85m for Rodrygo, who has registered just 330 minutes of game time in La Liga this season.
That is unlikely to deter Arsenal and Liverpool, who are both considering the possibility of bringing in a new forward in the New Year.
The Gunners would be willing to accept offers for Brazilian wideman Gabriel Martinelli next month as they look to free up funds to bolster the squad elsewhere.
Liverpool, meanwhile, are hoping to add another winger to the squad and have been linked with a move for Bournemouth’s Antoine Semenyo as star forward Mohamed Salah gears up to jet off for AFCON with Egypt later this month.
