Anthony Martial linked with stunning Premier League return to Man Utd rivals after fresh agent approach
Anthony Martial’s agent is reportedly working overtime to secure the player a move back to the Premier League.
The forward has been a free agent since a mutual termination of his contract with Mexican outfit Monterrey in June.
How has Martial fared over the last two years?
Having now plied his trade in and out of Europe, Martial seemingly has his sights set on a return to familiar territory in the English top flight.
Yet, he returned only a goal and three assists in the 20 appearances he made for Monterrey, so it’s not a surprise that clubs aren’t queueing to secure his signature this summer.
The 30-year-old did fare slightly better with AEK Athens, whom he joined following his Manchester United exit in 2024.
In the 24 matches he played over in Greece, Martial notched nine goals and two assists in total, before deciding to explore a new venture after only 12 months.

Although the Frenchman showed promising glimpses of being a prolific frontman at Old Trafford – especially in his debut, when he scored the iconic winning goal to seal an emphatic comeback victory over arch-rivals Liverpool – Martial was a hugely frustrating figure for supporters.
His availability rendered him one of the most unreliable players to have ever represented the club, with Transfermarkt estimating that the Olympique Lyonnais graduate missed around 101 games through injury since joining United at the beginning of 2015/2016.

Martial’s complete record for United
According to TeamTalk, Martial’s camp have approached Brighton and Hove Albion, Everton, Leeds United, Crystal Palace, Newcastle United and Sunderland to see whether they would be interested in taking him on board.
The report adds that Everton have no interest in pursuing a deal, despite being left with only one recognised centre-forward (Thierno Barry) following their deadline-day fiasco with Folarin Balogun, which saw the AS Monaco star pull out of the transfer at the 11th hour.
