Agreed Man City deal for generational MLS talent Cavan Sullivan will not fall through

Despite reports, the agreed deal for Manchester City to sign MLS player of the month Cavan Sullivan is not going to fall through, per Fabrizio Romano.
Philadelphia Union's Sullivan has long been seen as a prodigious talent. So much so that a couple of years back, City agreed to sign the now 17-year-old when he's eligible to move in 2027.
But with City found guilty of 115 financial breaches, there's been a suggestion that deal could fall through, and Spanish clubs could benefit.
But transfer insider Romano has denied that's possible.
He stated: "There were some reports in the Spanish press about Cavan Sullivan, 17-year-old American player, a wonderkid from the United States, he's considered the next big thing, the next star for American football.
"It was a here we go because Manchester City, the City Group, signed this player for the future already a long time ago, and prepared this deal.
"There was a story in Spain mentioning that the agent of the player said in public that the deal with Man City was not guaranteed yet, was not formally completed yet, opening doors to a potential move to Spanish clubs like Barcelona.
"The answer from the agency representing Cavan Sullivan these hours is that the interview is not true. The interview is fabricated.
"So Cavan Sullivan is not having any different plan from joining Manchester City. This is the message coming from the agency.
"They made very clear that there is no hijack ongoing from Barcelona to get Cavan Sullivan. Obviously, if something will happen I will be here to tell you because everyone in this story is waiting for the Manchester City verdict.
"But for sure, this Cavan Sullivan story is not an immediate hijack at all. "
Cavan Sullivan agent story
Sullivan is in stunning form, becoming the youngest player to ever win the MLS player of the month, at 17 years of age, after nine goals and assists in four games.
There were quotes attributed to Sullivan's agent in regards to his move to City not being entirely concrete: “Manchester City is one of the biggest clubs in the world. What they’ve built is indelible.
“It’s true there’s a pre-agreement with them for Sullivan, but you never know what might happen.
“We hope they resolve everything in the best possible way.”
Following that, reports in Spain suggested Barcelona were among the clubs preparing to swoop if the teen's move to the Etihad did indeed fall through.
