Three games into the new Premier League season and the numbers are already getting strange. Chelsea are setting records despite losing, Aston Villa still cannot buy a goal and Manchester United have stumbled into territory they have barely visited in half a century.
Here are 10 stats you may have missed from Matchweek 3.
1. Chelsea made Premier League history
Morgan Rogers scored after just 77 seconds against Arsenal, meaning Chelsea became the first team in Premier League history to score inside five minutes in each of their opening three matches of a season. It ultimately counted for little as Arsenal fought back to win 2-1.

2. Rogers is following in some famous footsteps
Rogers has now scored or assisted in all three of Chelsea's opening Premier League matches. He is their first player to do so since Eden Hazard in 2018-19 and the first English Chelsea player since Frank Lampard in 2002-03.
3. Arsenal's London dominance continues
The Gunners have now lost just one of their last 30 Premier League London derbies, winning 23 and drawing six.
4. Havertz enjoys facing his former club
Kai Havertz has scored three Premier League goals against Chelsea since leaving Stamford Bridge. Only Mohamed Salah and Kevin De Bruyne have scored more against the Blues after previously playing for them, with five each.
5. Manchester United hit a 50-year low
United have conceded at least two goals in each of their opening three league games for only the second time in the last 50 years. The other occasion was 2020-21, when they eventually finished second.
6. Aston Villa still haven't scored
Villa's 0-0 draw at Hull means they have failed to score in their opening three league matches for a second consecutive season. Only Ipswich Town, in 1969-70 and 1970-71, had previously done that in English top-flight history.
7. Spurs are stuck on zero too
Tottenham have also gone through their opening three Premier League matches without scoring, their worst start in front of goal for more than half a century.
8. City's promoted-team streak survives
Manchester City's 1-0 victory over Coventry extended their extraordinary unbeaten run against newly-promoted Premier League sides. They have now gone 36 such matches without defeat, winning 28 and drawing eight.
9. Haaland loves Premier League newcomers
Erling Haaland has scored 20 goals in 21 Premier League appearances against newly-promoted sides. Almost a goal every time he faces one. Haaland also hit the 300 club-goal mark, having scored 20 for Molde, 29 for Red Bull Salzburg, 86 for Borussia Dortmund and 165 for Manchester City.
10. Arsenal have started like champions
Arsenal have won their opening three top-flight games while conceding fewer than two goals for only the third time in their history, after 1924-25 and the Invincibles campaign of 2003-04.
Three games is far too early for a verdict on the season. It is apparently more than enough time, however, to start rewriting a few record books.
