A British press report on Saturday revealed an intriguing detail about José Mourinho's second spell at Real Madrid.

Florentino Pérez signed Mourinho with one aim in mind: to end Barcelona's grip on the domestic game over the past two seasons.

According to The Athletic, sources close to the Portuguese confirm he is buzzing about the prospect of a return to the Madrid dugout.

He feels he has an excellent backroom staff to work with, drawing on the people already in place at the club, plus a squad good enough to build this new project around.

His commitment has been total. Mourinho has slept at the training complex on several occasions to make sure he gets through everything he wants to complete.

He has got across every detail in every department, just as he did during his first spell. He did much the same at Benfica last season, sleeping at their training base at times.
