Watch: Maignan back to being magic with wonder save vs. Guler

Mike Maignan’s importance for AC Milan has been known for years, and with the French national team, he’s continuing to serve reminders of his talent.

Last night, Maignan kept France in a game which they were expected to dominate. After a poor ending to the World Cup, Zinedine Zidane’s first game had to be a win and there were certainly a few scares. Yet, they were kept sound by their goalkeeper.

Maignan was given the Man of the Match award by L’Equipe, Eurosport and RMC Sport, which is a testament to his performance. Once again, he made several key saves, but his best was against Arda Guler, as can be seen below (via @FConPredict on X).

Maignan remains vital

To France, he has already shown Zidane that he will be key to any successes that he will have in charge of Les Bleus and despite the fact that he’s conceded six goals this season, Ruben Amorim has been shown the same.

After a difficult start to 2026, the Frenchman has returned to being magic and with a long-term contract in place, Milan have no reason to worry about the future.
