The UAE are through to the final of the Arabian Gulf Cup "Gulf 27". A single goal saw off Oman in Saturday evening's semi-final at the Prince Abdullah Al-Faisal Stadium in Jeddah.

Othman Camara broke the deadlock in the 22nd minute, heading home a cross from Mamadou Coulibaly on the left to beat goalkeeper Ibrahim Al-Mukhaini.

Pressure kept building after the break. A foul by Luan Pereira handed the UAE a penalty, but Al-Mukhaini kept Oman alive, saving Nicolas Gimenez's spot-kick in the 56th minute.

The miss did not cost them. The UAE protected their lead to the final whistle and booked a final against Saudi Arabia, who edged Qatar 2-3 on penalties tonight after a goalless 90 minutes.

Issam Fayez took the man of the match award, the UAE star stamping his mark on both halves.

Group B had delivered the UAE's passage to the last four. They finished top on seven points, ahead of Qatar on goal difference, after beating Yemen 4-0, Bahrain 3-0 and drawing 1-1 with Qatar.

Oman's route was stranger still. They reached the semi-final by the drawing of lots for the first time in the tournament's history, edging out Iraq.
