A new crisis threatens "the Elegant One"

England's Ivan Toney could be facing a ban. The Al-Ahli striker verbally abused the referee after his side's clash with Al-Qadsiah in the Saudi Roshn League.

Al-Ahli went down 3-2 to Al-Qadsiah when the two sides met today, Tuesday, at Prince Mohammed bin Fahd Stadium in Dammam, in the sixth round of the Saudi Roshn League.

The moment the final whistle blew, Toney marched towards American referee Ismail Elfath to protest that he had ended the match before stoppage time had elapsed.

The cameras caught the English striker letting rip at the American official, telling him in the middle of his rant: "Are you stupid?".

Toney kept up his protest until his teammate Mohammed Sulaiman Bakr stepped in and tried to pull him away, fearing he would land a disciplinary punishment.

The irony? Toney scored both of Al-Ahli's goals against Al-Qadsiah, yet it wasn't enough to spare them a third defeat of the season.
