Defensive blunder in the dying moments

Amedspor snatched a thrilling 2-1 win over Trabzonspor on Monday evening in the third round of the Turkish league, turning a one-goal deficit into victory in the closing minutes.

Trabzonspor came out attacking, and Mohamed Salah put them ahead in the 11th minute.

The goal sprang from a counter-attack led by Ernest Muçi, who fed the Egyptian star. Salah broke clear from midfield towards the penalty area and unleashed a shot that settled in the left corner of the net.

Amedspor hit back. They threatened André Onana's goal more than once through Yira Sor, Mbaye Diagne and Dia Saba, yet the visitors held their lead until the final minutes of the first half.

Then came stoppage time. The referee pointed to the spot after Malih Kabasakal handled inside the area. Onana saved Diagne's kick, but Yira Sor pounced on the rebound to level in the fifth minute of first-half stoppage time.

Greater boldness: Amed pull off the surprise

Amedspor came out bolder for the second half, while Trabzonspor chased their advantage through Muçi, Aral Şimşir and Ozan Tufan. Salah pulled the strings again, teeing up Muçi twice in the 59th minute, but keeper Alban Lafont blocked both. The Egyptian then carved out a chance for Tufan, whose header Lafont pushed away in the 76th minute.

Salah nearly grabbed a second in the 82nd minute, only for the defence to block his shot from inside the area. Amedspor kept up the pressure until substitute Jefté Urbán struck the winner in the 89th minute.

Trabzonspor squandered their early lead despite Salah's goal. They slipped to their first league defeat of the season and ninth place on four points, while newcomers Amedspor celebrated a dramatic victory that lifted their tally to six.
