The Dutch midfielder continues to shine

Netherlands international Tijjani Reijnders has hit the ground running in the Saudi Roshn League since joining Al-Qadsiah in the last summer transfer window.

The midfielder started for Al-Qadsiah against Al-Ahli on Tuesday at the Prince Mohammed bin Fahd Stadium in Dammam, in the sixth round of the Roshn League.

Fourteen minutes in, the Dutchman opened the scoring for his new side. He lashed a powerful strike from the edge of the penalty area, and Senegal's Édouard Mendy, the Al-Ahli goalkeeper, could not keep it out.

It was the second goal Reijnders has scored for Al-Qadsiah since arriving from Manchester City in the last summer transfer window.

His first came on just his second appearance for the club, during the 2-0 win over NEOM in the third round of the Roshn League.

That is a sharper start than he managed at Manchester City. There, he scored just once in his first four matches for the Cityzens last season, against Wolverhampton on the opening weekend of the English Premier League.

Reijnders also remains the most expensive signing in Al-Qadsiah's history. The Saudi club brought him in from Manchester City in the last summer transfer window for 61 million euros, according to press reports.
