Vinicius Junior has a fresh look for the new La Liga season. The Brazilian changed up his appearance before Real Madrid travelled to Barcelona to face Espanyol.

Ahead of the trip, Vinicius sat down for a grooming session that included a new haircut and a trim of the beard he'd grown over his holidays. The makeover caught his followers' eye just hours before his first outing of the campaign.

Barber Erikson Souza posted pictures of the finished look on social media. He has worked with plenty of football stars before, among them Brazil's Neymar.

Based at a salon bearing his name in the Portuguese city of Braga, Souza appears to have travelled to the Spanish capital specifically to prepare the Real Madrid star for the start of the season.

Vinicius and his teammates now turn their attention to Espanyol at their stadium in Barcelona, in the second round of La Liga. It marks the team's first official outing of the season.
