The Leader continues its revival

Al-Hilal's flying start to the Roshn Saudi Pro League rolls on. A 3-0 win over Al-Feiha on Thursday evening in the second round handed them a second straight victory. "The Leader" now sit on a full six points and top the table provisionally.

The campaign had opened with a thrilling 4-2 win over Al-Faisaly, and Al-Hilal confirmed their superiority against Al-Feiha in round two. Italian coach Simone Inzaghi keeps guiding the team to positive results, even through spells where the attacking level dipped below expectations.

Savic opens the way for Al-Hilal

It took Al-Hilal 31 minutes to crack the Al-Feiha defence. Serbian Sergej Savic pounced on a ball that rebounded off the hosts' goalkeeper following a Crysencio Summerville strike, steering it straight into the net.

Savic's advanced runs gave his side another attacking outlet, and the Serbian keeps finding the net for Al-Hilal. He has become one of the key solutions the team lean on to reach the opponents' goal.

Mendes doubles the lead

Al-Hilal wasted no time after the break. Sultan Mendes struck the second goal in the 46th minute, opening up a comfortable advantage and making Al-Feiha's route back into the match far harder.

Control never slipped once the second goal went in. Al-Feiha searched for a way to reduce the deficit and drag themselves back into the contest, but "The Leader's" defence dealt with everything and kept a clean sheet.

A chance to extend the score arrived in the 81st minute. Dutchman Summerville missed a penalty that would have settled the match early, though the miss did nothing to loosen Al-Hilal's grip on proceedings.

Al-Dawsari settles it at the end

Substitute Nasser Al-Dawsari finished the job before the final whistle. His 88th-minute goal made it three, snuffing out Al-Feiha's hopes and confirming that "The Leader" took all three points without complications in the closing minutes.

Six points from two matches. That is Al-Hilal's return from a perfect start in the Roshn League, seven goals scored in the first two rounds and only two conceded. Al-Feiha, meanwhile, suffered a fresh blow at the start of their campaign.
