Unfortunately, Endrick is right back where he was last season

When you look at Real Madrid's squad on paper, specifically the attack, it's pretty hard to argue that it isn't the most loaded attack in all of Europe. With players like Kylian Mbappe, Vinicius Junior, Yan Diomande, Arda Guler, and even Rodrygo, who's currently out injured, any team in the world would kill to have attacking depth like Real Madrid.

However, despite all the talent, the attack has struggled to gel over the last couple of years, no matter what combination of players the manager put out on the pitch, and that has quite visibly been the case so far this season. Outside of Kylian Mbappe, everyone else in the attack has struggled to produce any real output, which has cost the team some key results in the early stages of the season.

Jose Mourinho will have to change something to get the front line firing on all cylinders, and as mentioned earlier, he has incredible attacking depth to choose from. However, so far through the first few games of the season, one player has noticeably been absent, which unfortunately for him is normal at Real Madrid, and we are of course talking about Endrick.

Endrick deserves to play more for Real Madrid

Ever since his arrival in the summer of 2024, Endrick has found life at the Bernabeu to be tough. He made 37 appearances in his debut season for Real Madrid, playing 847 minutes, which, given his age at the time, was understandable. However, in the 25/26 season, his playing time at Real Madrid took a massive hit, totaling just 99 minutes across three appearances, which resulted in a January loan move to Lyon.

In France, Endrick found a new lease on life, grabbing eight goals and nine assists, and looked like the player Real Madrid thought they had signed in the first place. After his successful loan spell, he returned to Los Blancos this season, with many expecting a big season under the new manager; however, he has found himself right back where he was trying to get away from, the bench.

Despite his return from loan, Real still went out and bought Carlos Espi from Levante in the summer, which has cut Endrick's minutes down even more. Through the first eight games of the season, he's made just one appearance for a grand total of four minutes, leaving many to question: what's next for the 20-year-old?

Sitting on the bench and getting garbage time minutes isn't good for his development at all, so could he be destined for another loan move? Bringing him back just to not play him and send him back out on loan in January seems like quite the waste of time when he could have just gone out on loan in the summer, given he had plenty of interest from clubs around Europe. The January transfer window is still far in the future, but if this is the start to the season Endrick is having, it could be a long few months till he gets proper game time, putting him right back in the same loop he tried to escape from at the beginning of the year.
