Tuttosport: Amorim reflecting as Moreira cannot go unnoticed anymore – why balance is key

Diego Moreira’s first – and only – start for AC Milan was a poor one. However, a game against Juventus was a poor test for him to make a first impression.

Going to the Allianz as a starter and taking a place off an in-form player will always bring challenges and Moreira, unfortunately, suffered them in Turin. Yet, he’s not been beaten by it. Instead, he’s scored three times since and looks like one of the better players in the dressing room currently.

Moreira’s struggle

MilanNews relays this morning’s report from Tuttosport, stating that Moreira has surprised a few at Milan after a difficult start. After the underwhelming game against Juventus, the Belgian has confirmed himself as a key player for the team, even if he’s been used from the bench since.

At the Olimpico on Friday, he again showed his quality, even if he didn’t score and did so from the right – which is his favoured side.

So, Ruben Amorim will now have to reflect a little bit. He hasn’t started him since the Juventus game, but he’s convinced several times since then that he can make an impact and be a starter. It must be an introduction with balance and the introduction seems inevitable at this stage. How Amorim will do it is something else entirely, but there’s a need to try again.
