Tristan Gooijer's transfer to Lommel SK now looks set to go through after all. The move had previously been close to collapsing, but there is now almost white smoke according to De Telegraaf, while Ajax have also negotiated a buy-back option.

Ajax and Lommel agreed a fee of around half a million euros some time ago for the 21-year-old right-back. Negotiations between Gooijer and the Belgian club then became so difficult that the deal looked off.

Now that has changed. De Telegraaf reports that the move is close again and that the parties involved have almost reached a definitive agreement.

Crucially, Ajax have included an important condition in the agreement. If Gooijer develops well at Lommel, the Amsterdam club can bring him back to the Johan Cruijff ArenA for several million euros.

So Ajax would still have the option of re-signing the defender in future despite a possible permanent departure. Gooijer remains under contract in Amsterdam until mid-2029 and, according to De Telegraaf, earns several hundred thousand euros per year.

So far, Gooijer has made 13 appearances for Ajax's first team and played 50 matches for Jong Ajax. Last season he was loaned out to PEC Zwolle, where he made 25 appearances in total.

At Lommel, Gooijer could link up with Don-Angelo Konadu, who is on loan from Ajax at the Belgian club.
