Trabzon president: The Turkish people wake up and go to sleep to the name of Salah

Trabzonspor president Ertuğrul Doğan has opened up on what the club's summer capture of Mohamed Salah means to them, with the Egyptian arriving after the end of his historic spell at Liverpool.

Speaking to Merihan Amr on the ON Sport channel, Doğan said: "The Turkish people in Trabzon go to sleep and wake up to the name of Mohamed Salah. The fans are living in a special state of morale after the deal was completed."

"We are living these happy moments with great enthusiasm, as we are convinced that we have secured a humanitarian deal for the finest personality," he continued.

He noted: "Salah is one of the most important players in the world, if not the first in the world, and since his first day in Trabzon he has created a beautiful atmosphere with his friends and teammates in the Turkish side."

For Doğan, the signing reaches far beyond the pitch. "Mohamed Salah's move to us supports us in many things beyond football, and he is a joy for the Islamic world, as well as having a positive impact on us in every field," the Trabzonspor president explained.

"Salah will be a bridge for rapprochement and for strengthening relations between Egypt and Turkey," he remarked. "We are living in a state of passion and enthusiasm, and there is no doubt that his impact on the footballing side will be extremely significant."

He expects the effect to be felt at the turnstiles too. "I expect an increase in the presence of Egyptian tourists in Trabzon, to watch Mohamed Salah in the matches," he added.
