Tottenham’s £85m Savinho deal reaches final hurdle
Savinho has reportedly completed his medical ahead of an £85 million move to Tottenham from Manchester City, with the Brazilian winger’s transfer now nearing completion.
The report comes from club insider Paul O’Keefe, shared via Last Word On Spurs on X, and states that the 22-year-old has passed his physical checks. It also says Spurs have agreed an initial £75 million fee, plus £10 million in performance-related add-ons, which would take the package to £85 million if all clauses are met.
According to the report, personal terms and administrative paperwork have been settled, with Tottenham preparing a formal announcement. The completed medical would clear the final major hurdle in negotiations between the clubs.
Why Spurs need him
The need for added attacking threat was highlighted in Tottenham’s 3-0 opening-day defeat to Brentford, when Roberto De Zerbi’s side had nearly 60 percent of possession but did not create enough chances. Savinho’s acceleration, technical ability and crossing from the right could give Spurs a more direct one-on-one option in wide areas.
His arrival could also relieve tactical pressure on younger squad members, including Mikey Moore, while offering Tottenham another source of width and creativity against compact defences.

Attention now turns to Savinho’s integration into the first-team squad. Tottenham could introduce him when Charlton Athletic visit in the League Cup in midweek, while the report also indicates that he could be available for the subsequent trip to Newcastle United.
