Tomas Cvancara makes heartfelt Celtic admission after Parkhead loan ended early

The Czech forward joined the Hoops on loan from Borussia Monchengladbach in January but struggled to make a sustained impact, scoring just twice in all competitions before injury brought his season to an early conclusion.

There was one particularly memorable moment for Cvancara, however, as he converted his penalty in Celtic’s Scottish Cup quarter-final shootout victory over Rangers at Ibrox.

After returning to Germany in the summer, the towering striker was deemed surplus to requirements at Borussia-Park and secured another loan move last month, this time returning to his homeland with FC Hradec Kralove.

Cvancara has made an encouraging start to life back in Czechia and registered an assist in Sunday’s 2-1 victory over Sparta Prague.

Speaking to local media after the match, the 26-year-old was asked to reflect on his brief spell in Glasgow and had nothing but positive things to say about his Celtic experience.

He said via Daily Record: “It was beautiful. I have beautiful memories of it.

“Unfortunately, I got injured. But it was beautiful.

“I Will never forget it.”
