Thanks to Al-Ahli: Al-Nassr shatter Al-Hilal's record in the Roshn League

"Al-Alami" continues to impress

Al-Nassr shattered the record of their traditional neighbours and rivals Al-Hilal in the Saudi Roshn League, thanks to their other traditional rivals Al-Ahli.

The visit to their Riyadh neighbours came today, Friday, at the Prince Faisal bin Fahd Stadium in the Saudi capital, in the second round of the Roshn League.

Abdulelah Al-Amri broke the deadlock on 18 minutes. The Saudi defender rose to head home a corner delivered by Brazilian midfielder Angelo.

That strike wrote Al-Nassr into the record books. They now hold the longest scoring streak across consecutive matches in Roshn League history, with a tally of 89 games.

Their new mark edged out Al-Hilal, who had shared top spot on 88 matches.

Al-Hilal's run ended last February when they drew goalless with Al-Ahli in last season's Roshn League.

Now Al-Nassr can stretch the streak further, and the firepower is there to do it. Portuguese pair Cristiano Ronaldo and Joao Felix lead the line alongside France's Kingsley Coman and Senegal's Sadio Mane.
