Southampton could finally be getting rid of this nuisance as next destination named
At the time of writing, we are now only two weeks away from the action-packed summer window slamming shut.
Southampton will be wanting to get some more business done before the September cut-off rolls around, with a new midfield addition being viewed as a big priority.
Alongside welcoming in a new signing or two before the deadline, Tonda Eckert and Co. will be busy trying to offload some deadwood while they still can, with so many forgotten reserve players remaining and subsequently rotting on the South Coast club's books.
The Saints players that must be moved on
After the news filtered through that Shea Charles had been sold to Fulham for a bumper £30m, I put out an article on Saints Marching looking over the players who should be moved on, alongside the Northern Irishman's exit to Craven Cottage.
Amazingly, Aaron Ramsdale remains on the Southampton roster still, but you would anticipate that a club will gamble on landing the ex-Arsenal goalkeeper before the window is out, considering his past Premier League acumen.
He hasn't thrown a wobbly, with Ramsdale even featuring for the U21s recently to gain some match sharpness.
Alongside Ramsdale, there will also be a desire to get the likes of Cameron Archer off the books before the window closes, with Divin Mubama the clear back-up striker now, after he secured a loan move from Manchester City.
The likes of Moses Sesay might also be offloaded temporarily, as the 19-year-old has come out to state that he wants first-team football this season, which will likely not be handed to him at St. Mary's so straightforwardly.
There is also another name that has been missed off this long list of reserve players Southampton must look to throw to the scrapheap, as - unlike Ramsdale who is featuring for the U21s - he has had a next possible destination named.
This flop's next destination has been named
When Gavin Bazunu first joined the St. Mary's ranks in 2022 for £12m, he was seen as an exciting capture.
Joining from Manchester City with a glowing appraisal by Pep Guardiola, who stated that the Irishman was a "fantastic" young player at the Etihad, his Saints career just hasn't gone to plan.
The number 31's performances in the Southampton net will largely be remembered for being far too error-prone, with Bazunu only collecting a weak 16 clean sheets from 97 Saints outings.
Ultimately, while his original arrival was exciting, the South Coast club are a lot better off in the present sticking by Daniel Peretz as their number one stopper, with a next destination now being tipped for the Southampton flop.
Indeed, multiple Croatian sources have come out to reveal that Bazunu could soon join Dinamo Zagreb to get his stuttering playing days back on the right path.
With the 24-year-old out of contract at the close of the 2026/27 season, the time is right to cash in, especially as Peretz will be keeping him out of the team, with Bazunu currently being assessed as an option for Dinamo to take on.
The money involved hasn't been explicitly mentioned, but it is alleged that the proposed financial structure would reportedly be acceptable to Dinamo, meaning a move might soon be on the cards for Bazunu to uproot to the Croatian capital.
Coincidentally, if he were to call the Adriatic Coast home, he would link up with another Saints dud in Mislav Orsic, who played just five times at St. Mary's.
This should be viewed as an attractive next step for the low-on-confidence stopper, as Dinamo are the current Croatian champions, and they're about to enter the Champions League qualification stages.
It's crazy to think that Bazunu is still only 24, despite being at the Saints for 97 matches, as he tries to breathe life back into his bumpy career far away from Eckert's men.
