Sky: ‘A day early’ – Maignan will return to Milanello on Saturday after vacation controversy

Today, AC Milan will face Manchester United, but back in Italy, there will be an interesting return at Milanello for Mike Maignan.

The extended vacation given to Maignan and Adrien Rabiot has been heavily discussed. As you’d expect, the club captain being the last to return did not go down well and Milan have certainly faced a lot of confusion about the decision.

For Maignan and Rabiot, it has brought up uncomfortable questions about their futures at their club and their commitment to the Rossoneri. Yet, in an attempt to salvage that, it appears the goalkeeper will return ‘early’.

Maignan returns ‘early’

According to Peppe Di Stefano on Sky Sport last night (as relayed by MilanNews), he will return to Milanello today.

“There’s some news at AC Milan. Mike Maignan will be present tomorrow morning, a day early . There’s been a lot of controversy surrounding the goalkeeper’s extra vacation days. He arrived in Milan a few hours ago and will return to Milanello tomorrow.”

Of course, it’s not really returning early, considering he took the extra vacation. However, it’s better than being the last to return. Perhaps it’s clutching at straws, but it says something more positive than last week’s reports.
