Shaun Maloney delivers Tierney, Hogh and Osmand injury update ahead of Celtic v Aberdeen

Hogh pulled up towards the end of Celtic’s calamitous Champions League defeat to LASK last week, while Tierney was forced off during Saturday’s victory over Falkirk.

Osmand was also injured against the Bairns and was later pictured leaving Celtic Park on crutches with his left foot in a protective boot.

Providing an update ahead of Celtic’s Premiership clash with Aberdeen, Maloney admitted Tierney and Hogh are unlikely to be available tomorrow but could return at the weekend.

He said via TCW: “They’ll [Tierney and Hogh] struggle for tomorrow, desperately hope they’ll be back for the weekend.

“Osmand will be longer, that’ll be a few weeks. That was an ankle injury, non-contact. Again, not as bad as we first thought.”

The injuries come at a difficult time for Martin O’Neill’s squad, with Celtic facing six matches across just 18 days in September, including two derbies against Rangers, a rearranged trip to St Johnstone and the beginning of their Europa League campaign against Ferencvaros.

Celtic are also working to strengthen O’Neill’s options before the transfer window closes, with additions being targeted across attack, midfield and defence.

Joel van den Berg is set to arrive permanently from PSV Eindhoven, while Parma midfielder Oliver Sorensen, Wolves goalkeeper Sam Johnstone and Chelsea striker Shim Mheuka are all closing in on season-long loan moves.
