SFA confirm officials for Celtic’s Premiership trip to St Johnstone
Matthew MacDermid has been appointed as the referee for Celtic’s Premiership trip to face St Johnstone on Wednesday night.
Martin O’Neill’s side travel to McDiarmid Park for the 8pm kick-off in Perth, with the match officials now confirmed ahead of the midweek fixture.
MacDermid will be assisted by Ross Macleod and David Dunne, while Dan McFarlane has been named as the fourth official.
Grant Irvine will be on VAR duty, assisted by Duncan Williams.
It will be MacDermid’s second Celtic appointment of the new season, having already taken charge of the Hoops’ 1-0 victory over Dundee at Celtic Park on the opening weekend. He showed two yellow cards.
The 33-year-old was also involved in several Celtic fixtures last season, including the 2-0 defeat away to Dundee in October and victories over Livingston and St Mirren.
He refereed Celtic’s 4-2 league win against Livingston before taking charge of the Hoops’ emphatic 6-2 Scottish Cup semi-final victory over St Mirren.
MacDermid was also the man in the middle for Celtic’s 2-1 Premiership defeat to Hibernian at Parkhead in February, when he produced three yellow cards and a red for Auston Trusty.
