Højlund celebrated his goal in "the Don's" style

Denmark's Rasmus Hojlund shoved Portugal head coach Jorge Jesus after the final whistle on Thursday evening. The Napoli striker made contact as the two sides met at the Parken Stadium in Copenhagen, where Portugal ran out 4-2 winners in the UEFA Nations League.

Cameras caught Hojlund planting a light shove on Jesus's chest during the post-match handshakes between the two teams.

A volcanic eruption that burned the giants: how did Spain dominate world football in a quarter of a century?

Hojlund had already stoked the fire. His 53rd-minute strike pulled Denmark level at 2-2, and he marked it with a Cristiano Ronaldo tribute, leaping into the air and belting out the famous "Siuuu". It was a bold choice given the charged atmosphere hanging over the night.

Joao Cancelo had opened the scoring for Portugal in the 12th minute. Mikkel Damsgaard levelled things up in the 23rd, only for Goncalo Ramos to restore Portugal's lead two minutes later from a Bruno Fernandes pass. Hojlund then dragged Denmark back on terms at the start of the second half.

Vitinha headed Portugal in front again in the 67th minute, and Joao Felix wrapped it up with a fourth in the 87th. That gave Jesus's side a third straight win in the group and a perfect record of nine points.

Ronaldo's absence lent the game an extra edge. He had walked out of the Portugal camp a day before kick-off, with tension building after Jesus left him out against Norway in the previous match and then told him he would not start against Denmark.
