The Rafael Leao saga continues to rumble on, with the latest reports suggesting a new attempt from Galatasaray is coming.

The rumours earlier in the week regarding Leao’s potential destination were mostly surrounding a move to the Premier League. The Athletic reported that Aston Villa had made a tentative bid, while Tottenham then emerged as contenders.

Galatasaray to meet asking price?

MilanNews report that Galatasaray are ready to make a new offer for Leao. The Turkish club are preparing a second bid to submit to Milan, aiming to reach an agreement with the Rossoneri as quickly as possible.

This is a crucial moment for the negotiations and for Leao’s future, which has been a hot topic since the end of May. After the initial offer a month ago – which was €35m fixed – Galatasaray have decided to try break the deadlock with an improved proposal.

The offer will be around €50m, with some bonuses that will need to be discussed. The feeling is that it could well be enough to beat the competition from Spurs and Aston Villa, talks that were brought on by the work of Jorge Mendes.

Gianluca Di Marzio meanwhile confirms that Leao’s departure ‘is getting closer’. Two teams have knocked on AC Milan’s door with concrete offers, with one being Villa and the other being Galatasaray, a club that had ‘never completely abandoned the pursuit’.

While new contact was made between Milan and Villains on Tuesday evening, it’s possible the Turkish club could make a comeback in the coming days to try to convince the player to accept the destination.

The Istanbul club have already expressed a willingness to go beyond €40m in recent weeks, but Milan continued to demand around €60m in total, including €50m in fixed terms and the remainder in bonuses.
