Paris Saint-Germain begin their second Champions League title defence when they host Slovak Super Liga side Slovan Bratislava this evening in a bid to begin a run to a third straight win of Europe's premier competition.

Despite being the continent's best team last season, Luis Enrique's side have had a rough start to the new campaign. After defeating Aston Villa 2-1 in the UEFA Super Cup, Les Parisiens have failed to win in their first three Ligue 1 games, drawing 2-2 away to Rennes and Lille respectively, before falling 2-1 to Monaco in their return to Le Parc des Princes. They were also bettered 1-0 by Lens in the Trophée des Champions.

Enrique will be hoping his side can get back to winning ways against a side that have also had a mixed start domestically, currently sitting fourth in the Slovakian top flight with four wins and two defeats.

The Spaniard has received practically a clean bill of fitness for his side ahead of the clash and with one player returning from suspension, there is only one confirmed absentee for PSG's clash with Slovan Bratislava.

PSG vs Slovan Bratislava injury news

Alessandro Longoni - absent

A product of AC Milan's academy, Alessandro Longoni is set to miss this game as his wait to make his PSG debut goes on. The Italian goalkeeper is currently suffering from a left thigh strain, which has seen him ruled out for this tie. He has only featured in one matchday squad for Les Parisiens so far, sitting on the bench in the draw with Lille and missing the rest of his side's matches.

Longoni being available likely wouldn't have made a difference on the starting lineup regardless, with Matvey Safonov set for another start between the sticks. Despite suffering a difficult start to the season, conceding eight goals in five games, he remains Enrique's first-choice shotstopper.

Nuno Mendes - return from suspension

Enrique has received a big boost in his defensive depth with Nuno Mendes set to make his return to action following a three-game suspension. The left back missed PSG's opening Ligue 1 matches after being sent off in the Trophée des Champions defeat to Lens.

His comeback can't arrive soon enough for his side as Lucas Digne's poor start to life in the French capital saw Warren Zaïre-Emery fill in on the left side defence, so Enrique will most certainly welcome the Portugal international back into action.
