Pato confirms Cardinale tried to sign Endrick: “He cares a lot about Milan”
Alexandre Pato has confirmed that Gerry Cardinale tried to sign his compatriot, Endrick, from Real Madrid in the summer.
Towards the end of the transfer window, some rumours suggested that Milan were trying to complete a big-name signing before the deadline. At the time, Real Madrid’s Endrick was one of the names being linked with the Rossoneri, but nothing materialised in the end.
At the time, a loan didn’t seem impossible for the 20-year-old striker amid fears of limited space at the Bernabeu. Those fears have been confirmed so far, eight games into the season, with just four minutes played.
Pato confirms Endrick attempt
Speaking at the Festival dello Sport, reflecting on his career with Milan, Pato also shared a few words on Endrick. He said that it would probably be best for the youngster to find a new club, while confirming that Cardinale did try to sign him in the summer.
“Endrick? I think he needs a change because it’s not easy to find space at Real Madrid. I don’t know what he thinks about it, but he can’t always let his agents decide. In my opinion, he needs to find another club.
“I know that Cardinale was trying to bring him to Milan, but he didn’t succeed. He always thinks of the best for Milan. We talked a bit in Copenhagen a few days ago. He cares a lot about Milan and he will do his best for the club,” he stated.
