Out of nowhere: Ajax find new defensive midfielder in Sofyan Amrabat

Ajax are set to strengthen their squad with Sofyan Amrabat, Fabrizio Romano reports. The 29-year-old midfielder is currently a free agent after terminating his contract with Fenerbahçe.
Amrabat also had an attractive offer on the table from an unnamed LaLiga club, but has opted for Ajax. The club have been looking for a new holding midfielder for some time. Right now, Youri Regeer and Jorthy Mokio are coach Míchel's only options.
Romano says Amrabat has already reached a personal agreement with Ajax.
