Officially: new president elected for the Saudi Football Federation

The general assembly of the Saudi Arabian Football Federation on Sunday approved the victory of Badr Al-Ruzaiza's list to head the federation's board of directors for the coming term.

Acclamation settled the elections. No vote was needed, once officials confirmed the sole list on offer met every electoral condition and regulation.

Al-Ruzaiza took the chairmanship within the list, with Louai Mashabi coming in as vice-president. Seven candidates rounded out the board membership: Lamia Ben Bahian, Fahd Al-Mansour, Salman Al-Sudairi, Thamer Al-Saadoun, Omar Al-Juraisi, Nicolas Cœur and Gerard Roudy.

Last Wednesday, the federation's sixth-term elections committee had revealed the final list of candidates for president, vice-president and board membership. It followed the completion of the appeals and grievances procedures and the close of the window allocated for candidate withdrawal.

Approval of the final list arrived within the timetable set out on 16 July. The sole list then carried the day by acclamation, with no ballot required.

Al-Ruzaiza now begins his new four-year term as president of the Saudi Arabian Football Federation, succeeding Yasser Al-Misehal.
