Oasis drop huge Celtic Park hint as eagle-eyed fans uncover coordinates clue

The Britpop icons have long been rumoured to be extending their hugely successful reunion, with speculation over potential Parkhead dates first emerging earlier this year and subsequently fuelled by frontman Liam Gallagher.

However, the band’s official social media account sent Celtic and Oasis fans into overdrive on Thursday with what appeared to be a major clue pointing directly towards the Hoops’ stadium.

Oasis posted a video set inside a Scottish chippy, complete with cans of Irn-Bru and a television showing Trainspotting.

But eagle-eyed supporters quickly spotted the most significant detail – the numbers 55.84 and -4.205 displayed on the wall.

Those numbers are the coordinates for Celtic Park.

No dates have officially been announced, but the cryptic teaser has further fuelled expectations that Oasis could bring their reunion tour to Parkhead next year.

An announcement is expected to coincide with the release of Oasis: Don’t Look Back in Anger, a documentary covering the band’s initial reunion tour.

Recent rumours have suggested potential Celtic Park shows could take place immediately after the Scottish football season concludes in late May.

That creates the intriguing possibility of a concert around May 25 – the 60th anniversary of Celtic’s historic European Cup triumph in Lisbon.

The Gallagher brothers’ affection for Celtic is well documented, stemming from their family’s Irish roots, while the connection between the band and the Hoops support has strengthened over the years.

Oasis classic Roll With It has effectively become an unofficial Celtic anthem, having first been adopted by supporters around the 1997 League Cup final.

The band played three nights at Murrayfield during their Live ‘25 reunion tour last year, with Noel Gallagher’s daughter Anais and Liam’s son Gene both pictured wearing Celtic colours during the Scottish dates.

Should Oasis confirm Parkhead shows, they would become the first music act to headline Celtic Park in three decades.

Wet Wet Wet were the last band to stage a headline concert at the stadium in 1997, while a planned Paul McCartney show in 2003 was later cancelled.

Hampden Park has instead become Glasgow’s main stadium concert venue in recent decades, with Liam Gallagher himself previously performing there during his solo career.
