Diego Moreira has completed his medical with Milan, though the winger’s move from Strasbourg won’t be signed until Wednesday morning.

According to Tuttomercatoweb, the Belgian international passed his medical examination on Monday afternoon before returning to his Milan hotel, with the contract signing now pushed back to the following morning rather than completed the same day as planned.

Moreira to Milan deal could rise to €65m with add-ons

Milan saw off competition from RB Leipzig to land Moreira, agreeing a fee close to Strasbourg’s valuation without quite meeting their initial €70m asking price.

The Rossoneri will pay a fixed €50m, with various bonuses, some straightforward to trigger, others more demanding, capable of pushing the total package up to €65m, which would make him one of the club’s most expensive signings of the summer alongside Gonçalo Ramos.

Roma had also shown strong interest earlier in the window, with Strasbourg initially holding out for a higher fee before Milan’s move accelerated.

The 22-year-old, capable of playing across the left flank as a wing-back, winger or attacking midfielder, came through Benfica’s academy before a brief Chelsea spell, a loan at Lyon, and two seasons establishing himself in Ligue 1 with Strasbourg. He also featured for Belgium at this summer’s World Cup.
