Tensions are mounting inside the Egypt national team camp, just hours after a goalless draw against Angola opened the Pharaohs' 2027 Africa Cup of Nations qualifying campaign. Talk of unrest is swirling around the dressing room.

Hossam Hassan pulled Mohamed Salah off in the 60th minute. The head coach later insisted the decision was purely tactical, stressing that his captain was not carrying an injury.

Egyptian journalist Ahmed Abdel Basset reports that Salah left the camp quietly, refusing to get drawn into any crisis, amid what he described as tension within the dressing room and comments that stirred controversy after the Angola clash.
